Our Hotel is Close to Plenty of Things to Do in San Francisco
Da Vinci Villa Hotel benefits from an impeccable location just a few steps from Fisherman’s Wharf, one of San Francisco’s most popular tourist attractions. The Wharf’s name originates from the Gold Rush days of the 19th century, when Italian fishermen flocked to San Francisco in the hopes of striking it rich.
Just south of Fisherman’s Wharf is an equally fascinating part of San Francisco – the Russian Hill neighborhood. Like the Wharf, Russian Hill’s roots are in the Gold Rush era; settlers during this time discovered a small Russian cemetery at the top of the hill where naval and merchant ships would bury crewmembers who died at sea. While the cemetery no longer stands at the top of the hill, the name remains. When strolling through Russian Hill, be sure to visit Lombard Street – the “crookedest street in the world” – and take some time to glimpse the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz from the hill’s summit.
Of course, these areas are just a small part of the city; there are many more wonderful attractions and things to do in San Francisco, as well as further afield. We’ve created a comprehensive list below, to help you plan your visit.
